What's in that Habitat

Click here to download this fileSuggested Student Assignments

1)  Look at this photo... Think of 10 animals and plants/trees that might live here?

2)  Remember that all living things need food, water and shelter.  How would this beautiful habitat satisfy those needs for each plant/tree & animal.  Write a sentence for each.

3)  Large areas in this region are slated for human activities such as recreational development or mining/forest harvest or home building.

Email us with your students' ideas on how the human activities/needs can still be done at the same time as maintaining habitat for the plants and animals.

If you wish, have the students put the email in the form of a letter that could be shared with our provincial government decision makers.  We will offer comments on your email and send it back to you with suggestions on where it might be sent.
