17. SOS - Saving Our Species

This collaboration with the Canadian Parks & Wilderness Society features a guitar-slinging sing-along concert and slide show for K-6, starring certified teachers Gareth Thomson (aka Captain Wilderness) and Peter Lenton (Peter Puffin)!

Note: Peter Puffin is solo while Captain Wilderness is on sabbatical from performing.

Includes endangered species costumes and action-along activities for the audience. 

Explores endangered species/spaces in Alberta. 

A sample of science curriculum topics covered includes:

Needs of Animals & Plants (Gr.1)
Small Crawling & Flying Animals (Gr.2)
Animal Life Cycles (Gr.3)
Waste & Our World (Gr.4)
Wetlands (Gr.5)
Trees & Forests (Gr.6). 

Available only in the Calgary/Banff area. Includes an accompanying 80 page booklet/cassette tape teaching package and optional, brief staff in-service.
